Hello, below please find a copy of the comments I submitted to WaDNR on the proposed expansion of Dabob Bay Natural Area.
I am writing in support of the proposed expansion of the Dabob Bay Natural Area. This expansion will build on many years of conservation efforts from multiple partners and has strong
community backing. During my working years, I participated in field trips to this area; my work at that time was focused on migratory birds. The opportunity for improving connectivity
of larger expanses of habitat among uplands, shorelands and tidal areas is becoming increasingly rare, so this is an opportunity that shouldn't be missed. I would also like to request
that DNR include the "West Dabob" area. West Dabob was in the original request from Jefferson County.
