Home My WebLink About013 07 . cc' f>w 3 . \(eo.;) ~13!07 STATE OF WASHINGTON COUNTY OF JEFFERSON In the Matter of: } } } } } Resolution No. 13-07 Naming a Private Road Barn Swallow Road or Elijah Swan Road or Delicata Way WHEREAS, Jefferson County has received a petition (Exhibit "A") to name a private road located at milepost 0.33 right on Country Meadow Road and as shown on the attached map (Exhibit "B"), either Barn Swallow Road or Elijah Swan Road or Delicata Way; and WHEREAS, the petitioner is a property owner on this road; and WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name, pursuant to the Jefferson County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance Number 2-0401-91, to allow for addressing along the road; and WHEREAS, research has shown that there are currently 4 addresses assigned at milepost 0.33 right on County Meadow Road; and WHEREAS, notification was sent to agencies and adjacent property owners; and WHEREAS, East Jefferson Fire-Rescue (FPD#1 ) finds Barn Swallow Road to be the most acceptable choice; Jeff Com finds all three choices to be acceptable; and one property owner submitted a response verifying their address would not be .affected by this naming and expressing a preference for the 2nd name choice; and WHEREAS, no negative responses were received for the first name choice of Barn Swallow Road; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the road be named Barn Swallow Road. The name that our family would prefer for the private road is: Elijah Swan Road. However, we wish to maintain our current mailing address of 332 Country Meadow Road as our property driveway directly comes off of Country Meadow Road and we do not wish to change our mailing address. This road, as shown on Exhibit "B" of the resolution, is located at milepost 0.33 right on Country Meadow Road, Chimacum. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's ft Con's: The petitioner has applied for an address for his property located on this private drive. There are currently four (4) addresses assigned on this drive however the last remaining number available would be out of sequence if assigned to petitioner's property. In order to avoid confusion for emergency responders and a delay in response time and in compliance with Jefferson County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance #2-0401-91 (JCC 12.20) the road is being named at this time. Notices were mailed to all adjacent property owners and affected agencies on December 21, 2006 and the following responses were received: East Jefferson Fire-Rescue (FPD#1) finds all three names to be acceptable and ranks them in the following order: 1) Barn Swallow Road, 2) Delicata Way and 3) Elijah Swan Road; Jeff Com finds all three choices to be equally acceptable; one adjacent property owner called to confirm that his address would not be affected by this change (his driveway exits directly from Country Meadow Road, not the road being named) and since given the opportunity to comment, expressed his preference for Elijah Swan Road. He also submitted a letter of same. No other comments were received. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: None Recommendation: The BOCC is asked to consider the petition and the responses received and name the road Barn Swallow Road by signing the attached resolution.
