HomeMy WebLinkAboutM04232024 CSCRegular Meeting Minutes Jefferson County Civil Service Commission Tuesday, April 23, 2024, 2:00 p.m. Jefferson County Courthouse – Commissioners’ Chambers 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368 Hybrid meeting: Virtual and In-Person Members Bob Gebo Chair Ken Przygocki Member Dan Taylor Member Steve Richmond Chief Examiner Kristen Bennett Secretary Call to Order: Chair Bob Gebo called the meeting to order at 2:06 p.m. in the presence of Member Dan Taylor, and Secretary Kristen Bennett. Member Ken Przygocki participated remotely. Public Comment: No comments received. Approval of Minutes: Member Taylor moved to approve the regular meeting minutes of February 27, 2024, as presented. Member Przygocki seconded the Motion. The Motion carried. Old Business: 1. Scheduling Support Services Technician Testing: Secretary Bennett read email sent from Chief Examiner Richmond: • A list of six names was certified and sent to the S.O. Of the qualified candidates for the Support Services Technician position. This list will remain valid through April 2026, • Both the Patrol and Corrections Sergeant Promotional Lists will expire in May 2024. One name remains on each list. The Department is anticipating possible promotions in both divisions before the end of the year. I am starting to gather updated copies of both policy manuals and the County Personnel Manual in order to update both exams. I anticipate testing for both list by the end of summer, possibly August or September. 2. Support Services Technician Test Discussion-Andy Pernsteiner: Discussion on updating Support Services Technician I test. HR Director Sarah Melancon offered to help form group to review and update test. Further discussion will occur when Chief Examiner Richmond is present. 3. Amend Rule 4-Classification; Section 2. Classification Schedule; (1) c. Support Services: Continuation of discussion to amend Civil Services Rules. The Board discussed edits to the Civil Service Rules. After discussion they agreed to table discussion for future meeting. Member Taylor moved to table discussion. Chair Gebo seconded the Motion. The Motion carried. Closing Remarks: No Closing remarks. Notice of Adjournment: Chair Gebo adjourned the regular meeting at 3:04 p.m. until the next regular or special meeting as properly noticed.
