SMALL PARCEL EROSION CONTROL PLAN
Attached is the "Small Parcel Erosion Control Plan" required for completion of your
project. This page contains information you need to know before proceeding.
Please refer to Flowchart 1 showing steps for developing the plan. The small parcel
erosion and sedimentation control plan is the minimum plan for storm water control.
If your development exceeds the threshold for a small parcel plan notify the
Department of Public Works.
Land disturbing activities mean any activity that results in a change in the existing
soil cover (both vegetative and nnnveg tative) and/or the existing soil topography.
Land disturbing activities include, but are not limited to demolition, construction,
clearing, grading, filling and excavation.
Site Plan: Pages 2 & 3 show an example of a typical site plan and trench section detail.
Your site plan should provide this type of information.
Plan Review: Plans will be reviewed within as soon as possible after submittal. One red-lined
or stamped "Approved for Construction" plan will be returned to you. Plans
required correction should be re-submitted as soon as possible.
Copies: Submit two (2) copies of the site improvement and drainage plan on 8 1/2 by 11"
paper.
Inspection: Contact the department five (5) days in advance for inspection. Contact the
inspector for the Public Works Department at 206.385.9160.
If at all possible, the inspector will make provision to meet with the applicant on
site.
Fees: The charge for review and inspection is$35.00 per hour. A final bill will be sent
to upon final approval of the storm drainage system.
Questions?: Contact the Jefferson County Department of Public Works, P.O. Box 1220, Port
Townsend, WA 98368, Telephone 206.385.9160.
If you wish to review the Storm Water Management Manual for the Puget
Sound Basin you may do so at the offices of the Department of Public Works,
or the County Library. You may purchase a plan from the Washington State
Department of Ecology (call Helen Pressley at 206.407.6456).
REMEMBER: No land disturbing activities may be done without plan approval,
and a set of approved plans must be on site during development.
