In government this does not happen very often, but I would like to point to an opportunity for some immediate gratification. The effort put forth in the development of our CWPP is already paying dividends. Please review the attached pictures. The Ludlow Maintenance Commission (LMC), learned about grant opportunities during the development of the CWPP. On their own, they connected with DNR and secured a micro grant for this project. The project focused on fuels treatment along Talbot Way between Walker Rd (south) and Swansonville Rd (north) in Port Ludlow. LMC volunteers cleared ladder fuels in the green belt project area and the DNR grant ($2500) covered the expense of the wood chipping. DNR has mentioned they are getting a ton of inquiries from our JC community members. In fact, they scheduled a special meeting with our CWPP team last week to discuss keep all of us on the same page. I sincerely appreciate all your efforts to keep this a high priority on Jefferson County.
