We have made it over the June-uary hump and summer has finally found the Olympic Peninsula, but there is a lot to soak in besides the sunshine (and heat!). National politics aren’t particularly

up all over for opportunities to learn more the candidates and about what they stand for.

Jefferson County invites community members to meet at the Port Hadlock Jefferson County Library on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 5pm to join county staff on a 2-hour bicycle tour of key historic
sites within the Tri-Area (Port Hadlock, Irondale and Chimacum).
The goal of this tour is three-fold:
First, county staff wants to understand which sites should be prioritized for housing development and why.
Second, staff is eager to ensure that community members understand what historic assets currently exist and explore ways of incorporating them into future development.
Thirdly, county staff is eager to share what we've learned from the charrettes that occurred June 11 to 13, and the two workshops that were held at the end of each month in April and
May at the Jefferson County Library.

The City of Port Townsend has organized four days of Planning Studios to engage with the community and “envision and plan for the future”. These are drop in events with big time windows

Missing middle housing consists of duplex, triplex, and more condensed housing types. The City is asking a small number of people to participate in a focus group specific to middle-housing

Jefferson County's projected AMI for 2024 has climbed slightly to $88,300 as announced by the department of Housing and Urban Development in May. However a significant gap still persists
from what wage earners can purchase to where the median home sale price currently sits. Without previous equity, significant savings or financial help, a family would have to earn at
least $150k a year to even qualify for a mortgage on median priced home in Jefferson County — Purchasing a home remains out of reach for the majority of residents who don't already
own one.
