Newsworthy insights for local leaders. Welcome back! This issue focuses on some of the things we in cities could be doing better.
* Financial health: Too many cities are misleading themselves about their financial health, including pension funding.
* Upzoning: Minneapolis saw more development when they relaxed some zoning requirements.
* Vetocracy: Have cities handed too much power to the folks who just say no? (Spoiler alert: yes, yes we have.)
* Scootin' along: If cities want to cut down on automobile traffic, we need to make the alternatives more attractive.
