Our second quarter went well. We continued to see an increase in the use of Worthington Park from prior years. We had multiple advertisements in publications advertising the mansion
and park and continued to increase our footprint on social media. The landscaping at the park continues to progress with newly established lawns and shrubbery making it the jewel
of South County. Our big event for the spring was the Bon Jon Gravel Race which drew over 300 riders this year many from out of county and state.
On the museum front the exhibits continue to improve plus we’ve completed repainting of the building. We had a very successful opening weekend with a record number of visitors plus
have increased our volunteer pool of donors to support additional opening hours for the museum. Volunteers continue to catalog the items in the museum in our museum database tool.
LTAC funding was invested in strategic communications to secure key media placements in regional outlets to highlight a full season of public and private events and assist in maintaining
the museum and park to allow it to attract visitors into the community as well as support the community. The upcoming 3rd quarter is our busiest time with a 4th of July picnic, Jefferson
Library Children’s reading circle, Key City Players, Up Up Circus, Tasting Gala, and Oyster races as well as hosting weddings drawing numerous overnight visitors into Jefferson County.
