MINUTES
8:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2024
Jefferson County Courthouse, First Floor Conference Room
Present: Secretary Sarah Melancon called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. in the
presence of Chair David Faber, Commissioner Greg Brotherton and Member Gary
Mikelson.
Approval of Minutes: Chair Faber moved to approve the special meeting minutes
from October 1711, 2023. Commissioner Brotherton seconded the motion. The
motion carried.
III Old Business: Discussion on proposed policy language changes and potential action
re: LEOFF I Rules, Policy and Procedure revisions re: required Medical Air
Transportation insurance. The Board reviewed a list of typographical errors in the
LEOFF I Rules, Policy and Procedure for correction, and discussed a potential policy
language change requiring Medical Air Transportation insurance for members.
Commissioner Brotherton motioned to approve the correction of typographical
errors in the LEOFF I Rules, Policy and Procedure, and recommended the board
conduct additional research on LEOFF I Boards policies and Medicare coverage of
Medical Air Transportation. The motion was seconded by Chair Faber. Findings will
be discussed in the next meeting.
IV. New Business: None
V. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 8:44 a.m. The next regular meeting is
scheduled for Tuesday, October 8th, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.
