On July 15, 2024 the Board of County Commissioners were pleased to appoint you to the Jefferson County
Veterans Advisory Board. Your term will expire on June 1, 2027.
Gary Lane is your contact for the Jefferson County Veterans Advisory Board regarding meeting dates and

Washington State has mandated Open Public Meetings Act and Open Public Records Act training for
government staff and officials.Newly elected or reappointed members of Jefferson County Advisory
Boards and Commissions are also required to take this training. Please use this link to access the
MANDATORY training: http://www.co.jefferson.wa.us/289/Open-Government-Training(press the control
button+left click on the mouse). (Username and Password is: public)Alternatively,you can go to the
County's website homepage at www.co.jefferson.wa.us click on"How Do I . . ."and click on"Open
Government Training"under the `Find' section. Note that there are also Records Management and
Retention trainings that we ask that you also take.
Once you have completed each training, please print and sign a certificate. The County will need a copy of
your certificate to show that you have completed each course. Please mail or email to the following address:

You have 90 days from your reappointment date to complete this training. You must complete the training
every 4 years. If you serve on more than one advisory board you only need to complete the training once
and provide one copy of your signed certificate.
We feel certain you will make a worthwhile contribution in this service to the community and we appreciate
your willingness to devote time to this Board.

STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
On May 28,2024, Clerk of the Board, Carolyn Gallaway, received notification from Peter Braccio that he had
assumed the position of Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post 3213 Service Officer. This acceptance of
Service Officer fills the vacancy for that required Post.
On May 10, 2024, an application was received for the Jefferson County Veterans Advisory Board Officer at
Large position.Board of County Commissioners(BOCC)staff advertised for the vacant position until Sunday,
July 7, 2024.
ANALYSIS:
It is recommended that the Board of County Commissioner's approve the following appointments for
Peter Braccio and John Hamilton, commencing June 1 in the year in which appointed and extending
for a three-year term; June 1, 2024 June 1, 2027.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the letters for newly appointed Jefferson County Veterans Advisory Board members:
Peter Braccio -Veterans of Foreign War(VFW) Post 3213 Service Officer
John Hamilton—Officer at Large
