HomeMy WebLinkAboutM07102024 CSCRegular Meeting Minutes Jefferson County Civil Service Commission Wednesday, July 10, 2024, 2:00 p.m. Jefferson County Courthouse – Commissioners’ Chambers 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368 Hybrid meeting: Virtual and In-Person Members Bob Gebo Chair Ken Przygocki Member Dan Taylor Member Vacant Chief Examiner Kristen Bennett Secretary Call to Order: Chair Bob Gebo called the meeting to order at 2:07 p.m. in the presence of Member Dan Taylor, Member Ken Przygocki, and Secretary Kristen Bennett. Public Comment: No comments received. Approval of Minutes: Member Przygocki moved to approve the regular meeting minutes of June 24, 2024, as presented. Member Taylor seconded the Motion. The Motion carried. New Business: 1. Approval of amended Civil Services Commission General Rules and Regulations: Rule 4- Classification: Secretary Bennett presented amended language of the job classification. Member Taylor moved to approve. Member Przygocki seconded the Motion. The Motion Carried. Old Business: 1. Discussion of retirement of current Chief Examiner and status of advertisement for Chief Examiner: Secretary Bennett presented research on State Civil Service Commission Chief examiner positions being to the County Human Resources Department. Research will be conducted to update Civil Service Rules with language to appoint Human Resources Department as Civil Service Commission. Member Taylor moved bring on HR staff as Chief Examiner role and create language for Civil Service Rules till next meeting. Member Przygocki seconded the Motion. The Motion Carried. 2. Term Expiration of Member Ken Przygocki as of 06/05/2024: Member Ken Przygocki submitted Letter of Interest to continue to serve on the Commission. No other Letters of Interest have been submitted. 3. Request to use National Testing Network in addition to Public Safety Testing for eligibility scores- Andy Pernsteiner: Continued discussion of adding National Testing Network along with Public Safety Testing to expand applicant pool. Decision was reached to conduct research on Civil Service Rules on reconciling two lists. Additionally, reach out to other Counties to find out if they are using both services. Member Przygocki moved to table the discussion till next meeting. Member Taylor seconded the Motion. The Motion Carried. Closing Remarks: No Closing remarks. 2 Notice of Adjournment: Chair Gebo adjourned the regular meeting at 2:47 p.m. until regular meeting scheduled July 23, 2024.
