Commissioner Dean,
I this morning’s meeting, during Commissioner Brotherton’s summary of work by the pool task force, you said that “Port Townsend School District is growing while Chimacum is shrinking”.
Sorry, but PT’s enrollment is declining, not increasing, and this is a continuation of the decades-long trend. FTE enrollment was 1,300 in 2008; the peak was about 1,600 in the 1990s.
If one uses student enrollment as an indicator to determine placement of a new pool, it’s clear that PT is not the place for a county facility.
