WAS HI NG TON CORRECTIONS CENTER FOR WOMEN t 9601 BUJACICH RD NW GIG HARBOR, WA 98332-8300 To Whom It May Concern: We are clerks for a program called The Village which is run by incarcerated individuals under the oversight of DOC staff from inside Washington Correction Center for Women. The Village is dedicated to encouraging our incarcerated individuals to change and to do well within our facility and in society. Our goal as The Reentry Sub-Council is to help prepare incarcerated individuals for a successful release back into society and to become healthy and productive citizens. We are writing today to first confirm that this is the correct address and that your organization/program is operational. Secondly, we are inquiring about what services, resources, and/or opportunities your organization offers those who are releasing into your community. The need for resources is enormous and the facility does not offer internet access for us to do research. Any information you can provide to us such as flyers, brochures, applications or pamphlets about the programs and resources that are offered by you, or others organization you may be familiar with would be greatly appreciated. Not knowing where to turn for help is a major contributing factor to re-incarceration. We try provide as much resource information as possible for those individuals releasing into the community. Information such as housing, medical, dental, food, financial aid for education, job training, domestic violence resources, drug or mental health treatment, volunteer opportunities, etc. is much needed. We display and distribute all information in our resource center so that it is available for everyone to view. We hope that you may be able to offer us some assistance. We look forward to your response. Thank you for all your help and consideration. Respectfully, The Village Clerks C/O—Ms. P.
