Dear Commissioners,
I am requesting I be reappointed as the commercial representative on the Jefferson County Marine
Resource Committee. I have enjoyed the last twelve years working with other residents of Jefferson
County who have an interest in the health and wellbeing of our local marine ecosystem.
I believe my experience from having worked in the aquaculture industry for 42 years and in this
geographic region for 33 years plus my continued employment at Taylor Shellfish Inc. provides me
with both the knowledge to understand marine related issues and a link to tap into industry
resources that can help the MRC with local projects.
Presently I am the Chair of the MRC, am central to the"No Anchor" buoy project,on the"Olympic
Oyster Restoration" project, DEI sub committee and Education and out reach committee.
I am hopefully realistic enough to realize that I am far from essential on the MRC but believe that my
contribution helps support the marine waters of Jefferson County.
If another industry representative is interested in filling this position, I am happy to consider
stepping down or acting as the commercial alternate.
I appreciate your consideration.
Thank you.
t.
Gordon King.
