HomeMy WebLinkAbout072324 email - There will be a lap pool open to the public built in BrinnonALERT: BE CAUTIOUS This email originated outside the organization. Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. This is a comment for consideration at the Healthier Together Force's next meeting. I am a resident of Brinnon, Washington. As I am sure you are aware, the residents of South County are generally opposed to being taxed to build a pool that would be located in the north of the county. It seems that the taskforce has the impression that a new pool would benefit the entire county. However, that is not actually the case, as there will be pools built in Brinnon at the Master Planned Resort (MPR). Per the representative of the owner, Statesman, John Holbert: " The MPR does in fact include two pools. One for family entertainment and one for adult lap swim. The project team including myself have tried to make it clear to the area residents that the pools will be available to the public as called for in the development agreement. We will make the pool available to the local school for swimming lessons and Statesman has said that the pool will be made available to the local high school if they want to start a swim team." In light of this, the new pool that is being considered by the task force would not be beneficial to the entire county, but only those residents who choose not to travel down to Brinnon to our new pool. The residents of Brinnon and Quilcene do not need another pool. Rebekah Ross Brinnon, WA
