Good afternoon,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is Lauren Bromley and I am the park planner assigned to the State Park property located on Miller Peninsula.
I wanted to touch base with you because State Parks is working to develop a master plan and Classification and Management Plan(CAMP) for the park, and I wanted to provide an update regarding
those planning efforts.
Information regarding our planning effort can also be found on the planning webpage link below:
Miller Peninsula State Park Property Planning | Washington State Parks <https://parks.wa.gov/about/strategic-planning-projects-public-input/projects/miller-peninsula-state-park-property-planning>
Additionally, we have created and posted an online survey to capture park user opinions from across the state regarding this new state park (attached flyer and link below).
This survey will remain open until the end of January 2025.

Current Planning Efforts
These are estimates but we should be close to the following schedule:
* We are hoping to onboard an Environmental consultant in October
* Public scoping/comment in Dec ’24 / Jan ‘25
* Research, data collection, and drafting the document usually take between 6-8 months
* We are aiming for the completion of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in Sept/Oct 2025
* We will take the findings from the EIS and finalize the Master Plan hopefully by Dec ’25/ Jan ‘26
* We will draft the CAMP document with the Master Plan and EIS by late Spring of 2026
* We are hoping to take all three documents to the parks commission in the Summer of 2026
We are currently working on the following assessments as well:
* Cultural Resource Survey
* Forestry Health Assessment (including fire)
* Soil Sampling
* Natural Resource Assessment
Efforts we are hoping to start in October 2024
* EIS
* Traffic study
* Naming the park
Please feel free to reach out with questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Lauren Bromley (she/her)
