We are in receipt of a notice of hearing report of ~fewers
in the matter of the petition of aus Swenson et al for the establish -
-ment of a county road.
Said county road would pass .over our lands described as the
S ~ of SE ~ of Sec. 15, the NE -~ and the ATE ~ of SE ~ of Sec. 22,
and the SW ~ of SW ~ of Sec. 23, Tovmship 28 North, 1 West.
In relation to this matter, we would say that we have had
our cruiser g o over the line; and he is unable to find settlers who.
possibly ~'
can^be materially benefited by this road. Owing to a previous policy
on the part of your county, numerous county roads hav~ been built,
resulting in a large indebtedness to your county; which, if followed
out at the present time, must certainly, not only at this time but
fora Long time to ccm e, work a great disadvantage to the residents
of your county.
The parties living along the proposed line of this road have
even now facilities to communicate with different parts of your county,
and with tidewater; and as we understand the matter, they are simply
asking to have the pre sent route made a ao unty road. We must therefore
protest against the use of our land along the route mentioned for a
right of way for a county road gt Y,his t 3me, as we do -not believe
