Trac'.e has at various times discussed the r_~atter of the completion of the wagon road from, Port Discover:, Bay so as to connect with the Cla ll=. rr~ Count y Road at the eastern end of said Clallam County, and dulyappointed committees at various times to investigate the feasibility and advisability of completing; and extendin{;~ said road, That invariably the committees so appoin~ tad have reported favorably to the Board on. said matter, and the Bo:zrd has also at all said times duly adopted the report unanimous- ly and heartily favored the completion of said road;- Said Board would further represent that among the memo ers of said Board of Trade are some of the heaviest tax pa;;Ters in the county of Jefferson, as well as business and professional men of all classes in the city of Port 'Townsend, inellzding the merrhants of various kinds snd trades in said city, T~iat individually and collectively th~:~ said m~nb erg have always beelm in favor of the extension of said road. acid Board would further represent thst several years ag© the representatives of Jefferson County agreed with the representa- tives of said Clallam County that the road would be completed through Jeff ers on County so as to c onn ec t with the east ern end of said Clallam County road. C1all~n Coun tt: road which the Board believes could be built for from ~3U0 to ~,4U0 The committees appointed to investip;ate this matter leave gone over the route carefully a:ad rgpo.rt that an easy grade and. a good road in g ~eralrx coup„ b e constructed, and that no difficult en~ineerin~ features are nec~ essary to overcome on any part of the route.
