Jefferson County understands that the Quinault Indian Nation intends to have this land transferred from the U.S. Forest Service into trust status for the Quinault Nation via federal legislation. Based on the information you have provided, the conversion of Allotment#1157 from U.S. Forest Service land to trust land is part of the Nation's efforts to restore its reservation lands and the parcel is already within your reservation boundaries. We express no opposition to the Quinault Nation's efforts to put this land into trust and support your efforts to restore your reservation.
