in Jeffers an County, a,nd .,;fate of (°~rashington, do, in consideration
of the benefits and advantages to accrue to me by tL.e location
establisY~ent, c onstruction ~:~nd maintenance of a good and s ufficient

others, hereby consent ghat said road be laid out, estab~.ished, sur-
veyed, constructed and maintained through my s~~id lands, along over
and upon the line and strip of land hereinafter described ~~nd des-
ignated, to-tvit, the said strip of l~.nd for riziht of vYay for said
C ounty Road shall be f orfy feet ~:: ide from the point vrhere it enters
the iTorth line of my sa..id lends t o the Easf line thereof, and shall
extend twwenty feet on each side of w center line which is described

~..herc~ the center line of that vrhicY~ is knovrn and corrnnonly called the
Logging or :~ id Road, t~rhich c roses the i5orth line of said lot
three; running from thence southerly clang ~~.nd upon the said Logging
or ,:mid Road to a point thirty rods south of the North line of said
lot three; thence due East to a point forty-seven rods East of the
West line of said lot two, it being the East line of my said lands.
If said county road shall be extended youth from this point
to the south line of said lot two, than I f~ ther cor_se~t that the
Ualest half of that portion of s~:id county road may be laid out, sur•
veyed, established, constructed and maintained on the East 20 feet
of my land, provided the County of Jefferson shall procure from the
o,~~ners of the land adjoining my Eastw+~+r-line, a strip of land
twenty feet in ti~ridth on which to establish, survey, locate, construct
and maintair. the East'.=---hal3' of that portion of said road.
It is further. agreed and understood that I will relinquish
unto Jefferson County said two strips of 1G~nd for said right of
vray for s~..id county .road for the considerations hereir. expressed,
and will vraive all clairls for darlages of ti~rhatever kind vrhich may be
occa.si oned to said lands or any portion thereof by the location:
establishment, oper_ing and construction of said county road, pro-
vidgd no nuisance is created thereon; giving and granting unto said
Jefferson bounty the said right of way with full power and authority
to locate, lay out, establishand construct said ~x oposed road and to
perpetually maintain the same as a county road.
It is understood and agreed that so much of said Logging or
skid Road vrhich now runs through, over or upon my said lands( lots
three, four and West nip teen acres of Lot tyro) as is not embraced
within or is notupon the right of vray hereby granted to Jefferson
County, ;,hall, in consideration of this concession of right of way,
by proper order and determination of the County Co~tinissioners of
Jefferson County Re discontinued, and the public be barred from use
thereof.
It is ftr ther understood and agreed that I reserti~e unto :~yself
my heirs and assigns, the full and absolute right to lay pipe lines
for conducting vrater along and across the right of way hereby
granted, or for sevrer purposes; and also to erect ;,soles upon said
rig~~t of vray and stretch wires thereon for conducting electricy
for commercial or other purposes. ~,

Dear Sir :-
I am requested by the Boaru of Commissioners to inform you
that they accept your proposition and they hereby authorize you to pro-
teed to open up that section of the Squamish Harbor Hoaat that follows
the beach, making it passable for wagons , the work to include such
ditching, culverts and other improvement as may be nece~x:~ary to make it
passable for wagons for the sum of ~149.G0.
The reason they deduct the X1.00 is to save the necessity of
advertising for bids as under the law they cannot let_work amr~unting
to ~1~0.00 and over unless they advertise the same. If you conclude
to accept tine work at the figure of X149.00 you are at liberty io
proceed without delay.

SPECIFICATIONS FORtwo wooden bridges for
- the Squamish Harbor Road
County Engineers Office,
Port Townsend, Wash.
Description:- The two bridges contemplated in these SPECIFICATIONS
consist of timber structures 90 Peet in length. Are located a few
hundred feet from hudlow Bay, and South from the town of Ludlow,
C6NDITIONS:- The Gontractor shall furnish. cedar posts a.s required, same
to have not less than 1S inch butts, and not less than l2 inch tops. and
shall set the same as show~a on the plans, which are .hereby: made a. part
of these Specifications. All sawed lumber shall be obtained at Port
.Ludlow ~a..nd transported a,nd put in .place by the Contractor; same to be
paid for by Jefferson County, so that the price of the sacred Lumber shall
not be included iri the. contractors price for completing these bridges.
LABOR AND N1AT:~RIAL:- The contractor shall furnish all labor and m~~.terial
necessary to com fete these bridges a~ .outlined in the Plans and these
Specificatic~na~ ~I~xcept the sawed lumber which is to be paid for as
hereinbefore provided, )
All framing to be done in first class manner a.nd to dimensions as
shostim iri the plans;. and material to be thoroughly spiked in place.
PI,A2dS:- The plans show the elevations of the two 90 foot. bridges and
a General. cross-sect ion. tfi~idth of bridge 14 feet.
G:.~N~~FAL:-The arlount of timber necessary for bracing .should be figured
double the amount .shown on the .plans, as this v~rill be necessary to
properly brace longitudinaly,( S00 B.R+i. per. bridge). ~Nork shall be compl~tdd
within. 40 days from the time of commencement of work, which shall be
within seven. ('~) days. after the awaxd of the contract.
