This analysis is ready to be reviewed by the Solid Waste Facility Task Force (SWFTF). Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's a Con's: Site selection for a new transfer station has utilized 3 screening processes: 1) The consultant provided the SWFTF with 11 candidate sites as part of a broad area screening 2) Public Works staff applied local knowledge to these sites, widened the study area and included residential properties to include additional candidate sites, and narrowed the list of sites to 4 3) Public Works staff then reviewed general areas within the study area on the basis of performance criteria derived from SWFTF Project Charter's Guiding Principles and requests for the consideration of co-located functions from other stakeholders Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: Costs for this analysis are budgeted for in the current Solid Waste Fund budget with revenue from the fees charged for garbage service at the solid waste handling facilities. Recommendation: Public Works staff would like to review the site selection process to date with the BoCC in an information sharing session. No action is requested from the BoCC.
