MINUTES
Special Meeting
September 26, 2007
Chairman Phil Johnson called the Special Meeting to order in the presence of Commissioner
David W. Sullivan and Commissioner John Austin.
The Board met in Executive Session from 9:31 a.m. to 10:35 a.m. with the County
Administrator, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Outside Legal Counsel, Central Services Director, Director of
Community Development, Public Works Director and Community Development Assistant Planner regarding
the exemption as outlined in the Open Public Meetings Act, RCW 42.30.11O(1)(i) Actual Litigation.
Irondale Community Action Neighbors (leAN) Petition No. 07-2-0012: The Board came out
of Executive Session and took the following actions. Commissioner Sullivan moved to retain Mark Johnsen
ofKarr, Tuttle and Campbell to represent the County in the hearing on the merits ofICAN Petition No.07-2-
0012 set for January 16,2008. Commissioner Austin seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
Commissioner Sullivan moved to not accept the proposed consolidation of the current ICAN petition (hearing
set for October 9,2007) and ICAN Petition No. 07-2-0012 (hearing on the merits set or January 16,2008.)
Commissioner Austin seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney
David Alvarez clarified that the second motion is direction to Legal Counsel Mark Johnsen.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Sullivan moved to adjourn the meeting at
10:40 a.m. until the next Special Meeting scheduled at Fort Worden Commons, Company A, at 6:30 p.m. The
purpose of the Special Meeting is the continuation of the public hearing on proposed Clean Water District
Ordinance. Cot:t)!Ili~sioner Austin seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
