Flu Shot Clinics: The demand for flu shots has risen
dramatically over the past three years. It is projected that about
1,500 shots may be given this year, as compared to less than 800
in 1988. This has added to the workload of every available nurse.
DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH REPORT
Clandestine Drua Labs: Linda Atkins, Environmental
Health Specialist was present to discuss the Environmental Health
Report. She explained that the Health Department was not notified
of a recent drug raid. Under HB2906 they are required to post the
property with warning signs, notify the owner and determine if the
property is contaminated from tests run by the DOE and DEA. It is
also their responsibility to prohibit the use of the property until
it has been decontaminated, at which time they authorize the reuse.
In the future they will be working closer with the Sheriff's office
in these situations.
