The property is currently owned by Eldon Marlow at 51 Thomas Drive, Port Hadlock, W A. According to the Jefferson County Critical Areas Map, the subject property is a I-acre parcel adjacent to Chimacum Creek. The proposed project is to construct a 24' x 30' shop adjacent to the single-family residence. The Jefferson County Department of Community Development (DCD) requires this Level I assessment to determine uland use restrictions apply to proposed building developments associated with this parcel. SITE DESCRIPTION The legal description of the subject property is: Parcel #942-901-101 and #942- 901-102, Section 3, Township 29N, Range IE. (Figure 1) The mixed stand, riparian zone located between the upland property boundary and Chirnacum Creek protects and generally produces structural layering and diversity for this Type I stream of high habitat value. This natural and established buffer provides stream bank protection from erosion. The subject parcel and proposed pole building si~ are outside the ISO-foot stream buffer restrictions. RESULTS The proposed pole building is upslope and approximately 200 feet from the Chimacum Creek. Attached, please find the Level I Assessment Map with field findings. This map does NOT represent a formal delineation. The impact of this proposed pole building on the stream corridor would be insignificant, due to the following factors: · Distance from the proposed building site to the Creek (> 150 feet) · Presence of a natural and established buffer between the property boundary and Chimacum Creek · No tree removal will be required for this project Final authority over wetland determinations and associated buffers is determined by Jefferson County DCD.
