The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Dalgleish with all present
for the purpose of hearings. Mr. Mark McCready was present to represent the Assessor's
Office.
MILO D. & MARGUERITE BURROUGHS, BE 84-13-LO, Parcel #921093003. Mr. McCready reported
that the Burroughs had presented documents to the Assessor's Office proving their
land was not suitable for sewage disposal per the Jefferson County Health Department,
so their assessment was reduced by 50%. Order of the Board forms were prepared and
mailed reducing their assessment from $44,450. to $22,225. '
OLIVER V. PICKETT, BE 84-14-LO, Parcel #939900009. Mr. Pickett wrote saying he could
not attend his hearing. Chairman Dalgleish read his petition. His land is assessed
for $24,500. he feels $19,500. to be a fair value, this what his asking price for
the property is with ERA Realty. Mr. McCready explained that he had comparables
for the area to substiante the assessment, however since the property is for sale
for less, he, feels a site inspection will be helpful to determine the value. The
Board will take this under consideration and make a siteinspectil)n.
JANE ANDERSON, BE 84-15-LO, Parcel #938100323. Mr. McCready reported that the Assessor's
Office received a septic denial of this property and reduced it 50%. Order of the
Board forms were filled out and mailed reducing the property value from $20,000.
to $10,000. '
JAMESc,V. JENSEN, BE 84-16~R, Parcel #001324066. Mr. and ~rs. Jensen appeared before
the Bdard and were duly sworn in. Mr. Jensen explained tnat he felt his property
valuation should be lowered because his property is located next to a saw and shake
mill and i.t is very noisy. Mark IkCready responded that lie has comparables in the
area but the determining factor is to what degree the mill has in adversely affecting
the market value. The Board will take this into considerati"on and make a sjte inspection.

JAMES V. JENSEN, BE 84-17-R, Parcel #001324013. Ik. Jensen had the same noise com-
plaint for this property and also felt a mobile home was located too near his property.
Mr. DO!Jglas said hewould like to check with the Planning Department to see if therl'!
any rules restricting operations of plants located in residential areas. The Board
wlll consider this along with BE 84-17-R.
R.M. RICKETTS BE 84-18-R, Parcel #939601404. Mr. Ricketts appeared blOC: ":c3 duly sworn
In. His land is valued at $19,000. He feels a fair value is $13,000, because his
view is obstructed from tree growth and property and roads in thi,s area are not being
kept up as originally thought from articles and covenants of area. Mr. McCready sai,d
the Assessor's Office felt that if property owners wanted a reduction because of view
obstruction they could come before the Board and be considered individually. The
Board will take this under consideration and make a site inspection.
Having no further business, the Board adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
