DeLeo Chainnan Vice-Chairman Member Alternate M I NUT E S 20 July 1987 Meeting came to order at 9:00 a.m. all Board Members and Clerk were present. Representing the Assessors office is Bob Shold. BOE-87-05-LO - MILES D, POTHOUST - Parcel # 939-601-445 A Letter dated July 13, 1987 state. the petitioner will not beable to attend. This is a lot at Cape George 100' x 140'. The lot has been for sale at $ 16,000 for sometime with no interest in the lot at all. The Assessor's have it valued at $20,000 the petitioner thinks it is only worth $16,000. They also have three comps. Bob S. - $16,000 is about right for what is going on now in that area but an actual inspection of the, lot (plus comps) should be considered before the fi.nal decision. BOE-87-06-LO - t~RGARETTE HIGHNOTE - Parcel #936-903-601 Representing the Assessor's office is Robert Kingsley and Bob Shold. The petitioner has 7 lots at North Beach. They have been on the In!lrket for three years for $12,000 each or $80,000 for all, The roads are in poor condition. Petitioner has 3 comparables but they are not sales just listings. Robert K. There has been a mathematical error in the assesment. Ms Highnote has been assesed as having 4 back lots when there are only 3, She is currently listed at $70,000 when the corrected figure should reas $62,250. The Board will take this underadvisment. BOE-87-0i-LO - BARBARA LYON - Parcel #936-903-602 Ms.lyon is being represented by ~1argarette Highnote (t10ther). Th.e petitioner has four lots valued at $35,000. She has 3 comparables that are listings and not sales. The petitioner feels the value is to high. Robert K. Has submitted a map with comensurate sales in the past 4 years to back up the value of the property. He advises the Board to take a look at the properties that are listed as comparables to determine the decision. BOE-87-08-LO - MILOS FALTA - Parcel # 001-064-004 Received a letter that he will not attend. Petitioner has 20 acres in Cape George valued at $80,000 and he feels this is toOhigh. Mr. falta talked to a real estate agent who told him that at the time of the reval in 1985 that land prices were down, so he petitioned. Bob S. - The petitioner has acess to Hasting Ave. Nest. The land is 19.6 acres. Mr. Shold has no comparables this size (20 acres) and says they will be reval ing in 1988 but he recommends the Board make an onsite inspection. Oi- '1.0-91 BOE-87-09-LO 1. JOHN WIEDMAN - Parcel # 902-264-016 thru 021 (6 Lots) Mr Wiedman was present for the hearing. The current assesment is to high $4,000 . But wi.ll sell at $2,000 plus clos.ing GQsts. He will not sell less than 3 acres because the lots. are not btg enough. Bob S. Could not come up with any cOllJparables but does agree that $4,000 is too high and the lots will be reval ued in 1988. The Board will take a look and then make tneir decision. HAVING NO FURTHER BUSINESS FOR THE DAY, MEETING ADJOURNED AT 3:00 pm.
