Chairman Dalgleish ~alled the meeting to order at 9:10 AM. All Board members and
Clerk Lea were present.
BOE-87-076-LO - Parcel No. 021-029-018 - Petitioner Blakley was not present for the
hearing. Bob Shold represented the Assessors office. The petition stipulated that
this parcel, a 165' '1.. 150' (l;, acre) lot on Swartz Road, is not large enough to
support building improvements. The lot has been cleared for recreational use.
The Assessor confirmed that this parcel has limited recreational use and confirmed
that the purchase of this parcel in 1984 at $3,800 is the only recent sale of this
type of property.
The Board moved and passes a motion to sustain the current valuation of $4,000
in as much as there were no recent sales records to justify a change in valuation.
BOE-87-077-R - Parcel No. 977-700-062- Petitioner Christensen was not present at
the hea.ing. Bob Shold represented the Assessors office. The petition stipulated
that (1) the parcel was purchased in 1978 for $55,000 (2) that the 1400 square foot
house was built in 1941 and a 720 square foot garage and carport was constructed
in 1986 and (3) that the parcel has been used as income property between 1980-87.
The Assessor pointed out:that'this parcel consists of 120 front feet on Admiralty ll1let
on top of a high bank with access to the beach.and presented two comparables with
sales in 1985 for $85,000 and $100,000.Board inspection may have influence on any
decision to make a adjustment.
BOE-87-078-LO- Parcel No, 721-043-001- Petitioner Indykiewiez did not come from
Ne~ Brighton , Mn to appear at the hearing. Bob Shold represented the Assessors
office. This parcel consists of part of Govt. Lot 2 of 7.4 acres with 280 front
foot on Hood Canal and a partial separation by South Point Road. The petition
requested a reduction in valuation from $91,000 to $52,388 due to topography and
separation of uplands above the road.
The Assessor stipulated that the current valuation was based on $450 per front
foot on the 280 frontage less 30% for wet lands and excess plus $10 per front foot
for tidelands fronting on this parcel. A cOlllparable sale in the iif'.IlB.. was based on
$470 per front foot (8-8-85)
BOE-87-079~LO - Parcel No 721-043-009 Petitioner Indykiewicz not present. Bob
Shold represented the Assessor's office. This petition concerned the parcel south
of the pervious petition (Tax 1 plus tidelands) consisting of 5.66 acre land parcel
with 200 front feet on Hood Canal. partly across South Point Road. .
The Assessor stipulated that the current valuation was based on $450 per front
foot Jess 25% for topography and excess land plus $10 per front foot for tidelands
abutting this Tax lot.
BOE-87-080-LO - Parcel No. 721-043-010- petitioner lndykiewicz was not present.
Bob Shold represented the Assessors office. This petition concerned the third and
southern most parcel of the previous petitions consisting of Tax Lot 2 (100 front
feet) plus Tax E and F tidelands abutting the uplands.
The Assessor stipulated that the current valuation was based on $450 per front

BOE-87-081-R - Parcel No. 821-262-003 - Petitioner Hendricks was not present at the
hearing. Bob Shold represented the Assesso~s office. The petition stipulated that
the parcel was purchased in 1979 for $75,000 and it was not clear that there were
any improvements in the property or buildings at the time of purchase. It was further
stipulated that used materials were used in the construction of both the house and
the barn sugusting that the valuation of the building improvements should be reduced
from $92,100 to $71,900.
The Assessor reported that the current valuation of the building improvements
was pased on 1748 square feet on two floors and 80% construction completion. The
Board inspection should incJ.ude a review of the class of construction and degree
of completion.
There being no further business beforethe Board, the meeting was adjourned until
9:00 AM on Monday, the 24th of August.
