DeLeo Chairman Vice-Chairman Member Alternate MINUTES 26 August 1987 Chairman Dalgleish called the meeting to order at 9:15 AM. All Board members and Clerk Lea were present. BOE-87-088-R - Parcel No 998-600-006 - Petitioner Hern not present at the hearing. Bob Shold and Bob Kingsley represented the Assessors office. The thrust Of this petition was that 'Mr. Hern had been negotiating an adjustment in valuation of the Land Valuation of this parcel (Lot 7, Termination Point) from $16,000 to $36,000. These negotiations started in June 87 and were not completed prior to the July 15 petition deadline because an elaoerate security system pro- hibited an on-site inspection by representatives of the Assessor's office. The petitioner was seeking an increase of the total valuation of the parcel from $185,035 to $202,035. Board inspection should assist in confirming the request. BOE-87-089-LO - Parcel No. 721~031-013 - Petitoner Hern was not present at thehearing. Bob Shold represented the Assessors office. The subject parcel (Lot 3, Longmire short Plat #4) is a 2.4 acre Lot with 180 feet of high bank water front over looking Hood Canal with a well improvement. The owner completed a negotiation with the Assessors office on 20 July 1987 to increase the valuation from $39,215 to $55,000. The Assessor was seeking Board inspection and approval of this agreement. BOE-87-090-LO - Parcel No. 998-200-338 - The petiti'oner, Lorraine M. King)sent a letter to the Board of Equalization ind'icating no appeal of the assessed valuation of $18,000 in this parcel, but rather seeking an explaination of the revaluation process of the Jefferson County. The Board moved to terminate the petition and to write a brief report on the revaluation process to Mrs King. BOE-87-091-R - Parcel No. 971-100~337- Petitioner Irvin not present at hearing, Bob Shold represented the Assessors office. The petition stipulated that the parcel (Lot 36, Block 3 of the Marshall addition on Triton Cove) was aquired in lieu of a forclosure with a value of $16,000 set ~~ the acqui~er. The Lot has a large ravine taking up most of the lot, and the ~abin on the lot is useless -- deteriorated beyond repair. The Assessor reported it has not been inspected since September 1985 and that an inspection should be made by the Board to determine the current level of deterioration of the house and barn on the parcel. BOE-87-092-LO - Parcel No. 992-600-035- Mr. & Mrs Johnson were present at the hearing. Bob Shold represented the Assesso~s office. The petitioners stipulated that they purchased this parcel (a 3 acre Lot 100 feet by 1300 feet at Seaholm) for $1083 in 1943 before there was an a~ess road. The parcel has a large canyon running through its midser-tion. The Assessor reported no comparable sales in the area since 1977 and further whether the health department would permit building on the parcel. BOE-87-093-LO - Parcel No. 501-032-012 - Mrs De Vries not present at Bob Shold represented the Assessors office. The petition stipulated the parcel (Lot 1, Smith Short Plat, Hazel Point Road) was purchased for $27,000, (2) it was questioned why the valuation was $7,000 more purchase price, and enclosed a copy of the short plat and Excise Tax verifying purchase price. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned until 9:00 AM on, September 11th. The Board will be on field trips in the interim period.
