The July 1984 session of the Jefferson County Board of Equalization was
reconvened by order of the Department of Revenue for the sole purpose of
'correcting errors on the personal property of Skookum Marine Construction,
Parcel #000aI1744. Chairman Dalgleish called the Board to order at 9:00 a.m.,
with all members present. Assessor Jack Westerman represented the Assessor's
,Offi ce.

BE 84-77-P., Skookum ~1arine Construction, Parcel #000011744-. Jack Hesterman
read his written request to the Department of Revenue to reconvene the July
Board to correct an assessment on the personal property (crane) of Skookum
Marine Construction. This crane was assessed at $85,500. It sold for
$54,000. r~r. Bernie Arthur represented Skookum t1arine Construction and
was duly sworn in. He stated that his crane had been for sale for two years
and finally sold for $54,000. He said he felt the assessment had been too
high but'did not know how to prove it before it sold. Mr. Hesterman said
he felt the sale price was the best indicator of value and recommended that
the value be reduced from $85,500.- to $54,000. It was moved, seconded, and
agreed to reduce the valuation as recommended by the Assessor. An order
of the Board form was prepared.
The ~uly 1984 Board adjourned.
Followino the hearing, "the Board was called to order b1 Chairman Dalgleish
with all "members present for the purpose of r~viewing the manifest errors
and taxes uncollectable on the 1985 and prior years tax rolls as mandated by
RCll 8~.. 56.390 and 400. Il a ~1i cke 1 son, Chief Deputy in the Treasurers Offi ce
and Assessor Jack Hesternan were present.'

~1s; r.1ickel son stated that there are 597 changes this year. r~ost of'the changes
are additions due to Crown Zellerbach selling their property in this area.
Mr: Westerman explained the differences on the form due to the new computer
coding.
The Board went over the manifest, then moved, seconded, and agreed to accept
the manifest errors as presented. A copy of the manifest is on file.
Having no further business, the meeting adjourned.
