The meeting was called to order at 9:30 a.m. by Chairman Dalgleish with members
Archie Barber and David Douglas present.
Connie O. Barlow was sworn in as Clerk of the Board of Equalization.
PetItion BE-85-1 and 2: Petitioner Gerald E. Solberg maintained that the purchase
.price of property in 19B1 should be the basis for valuation of property, and that
his taxes on the properties for the tax years 1984-85, and 1986 should have been
base~on this valuation. The Board informed hi~ that this hearing was limited to
the 1985 valuation to be used as basis for the 1986 taxes; and that he would have
to seek direction from the State Department of Revenue to re-open hearings on
previous years valuations by this Board. Testimony indicated that the two parcels
have 'to be considered jointly because the bllilder located the house such that it
enchoaches on adjacent lot. (BE-85-2LO). Val uation , on this actiacent lot might
be reduced because lot is encumbered. Board, will make inspection prior to ~aking
d,?ci sion.
Petition BE-85-3: Petitioner Paul t1. l-Jilliams failed to appear at hearing. The
funda~ental justification for the 12-month petition was the building moratorium
set by the D.O.E. in 1984. Since the Moratorium was lifted in June 1985, the
board moved to sustain the Assessors Valuation.
Having no further business meeting was adjourned.
