The Board of Equalization convened at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman A.C.
Dalgleish, Vice-Chairman David G. Douglas, Member Archie Barber, Jr.
and Clerk Dierdrei L. Whiteford present. The Board dispensed with the
reading of the Minutes of previous meetings at this time.
Chairman Dalgleish noted that on August 31, 1988 the Board along with
the Deputy Assessor made a trip to the West End of Jefferson County to
make property inspections.
DECISIONS OF THE BOARD DETERMINATIONS
BOE-88-011-R Parcel Number: 990-600-350
PETITIONER: DIMITRI H. KYRIAKOS
On August 10, 1988 at 10:15 a.m. the Board along with the Deputy
Assessor made an on-site inspection of this property. The Board noted
that due to the steepness of this lot along with its difficult
building conditions Mr. Kyriakos wanted the land reduced from
$36,000.00 to $8,000.00. The Chair requested the Decision of the
Board:
MEMBER ARCHIE BARBER, JR. MOTIONED TO SUSTAIN THE CURRENT
ASSESSED VALUATION IN SPITE OF THE STEEP LOT AS THE HOME SITE IS IN
PLACE. THE TOTAL VALUATION SUSTAINED WAS $105,760.00 WITH THE
IMPROVEMENTS BEING $69,760.00 OF THIS FIGURE.
VICE-CHAIRMAN DOUGLAS SECONDED THE MOTION.

no sales. Rebecca Lundy requested that the valuation be dropped to
her original purchase price of $19,000.00. The Chair requested the
Decision of the Board:
VICE-CHAIRMAN DOUGLAS MADE THE MOTION TO SUSTAIN THE VALUATION
AT $22,950.00. HE SAW NO JUSTIFICATION TO LOWER THE VALUATION FURTHER
AS THE ASSESSOR REDUCED THE VALUATION BY $4,550.00 IN JANUARY 1988.
