BOE-073-LO Parcel Number: 904-042-005 PETITIONER: STEVE LOPES On August 15, 1988 at 2:15 p.m. the Board along with the Deputy Assessor made an on-site inspection of this property. It was noted that at the time of the on-site inspection Mr. Lopes was engaged in digging out a foundation for new construction. It was also noted that the Deputy Assessor, Mr. Kingsley, conceded that the purchaser had just bought this property for a cash price of $19,000.00 and it was on the roles for $24,840.00. the Chair being of the opinion that cash is an incentive to reduce the price now requested the Decision of the Board: MEMBER ARCHIE BARBER, JR. MADE THE MOTION TO REDUCE VALUATION FROM $24,840.00 TO $20,000.00. VICE-CHAIRMAN DOUGLAS SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOTE. BOE-074-R Parcel Number: 712-064-008 PETITIONER: JEANNE MEYERS On August 31, 1988 at 12:28 p.m. the Board along with the Deputy Assessor made an on-site inspection of this property. Jeanne Meyers was present to accompany the Board around the residence. It was noted that there were no power lines to the cabin though there was some wiring. There wasn't a septic system, though the structure did have partial plumbing in it. Rainwater is gathered for domestic purposes. The Chair requested the Decision of the Board: VICE-CHAIRMAN DOUGLAS STATED THAT HE IS TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE FACT THAT THE BUILDING WAS CONSTRUCTED MAINLY FROM USED MATERIALS IN A CRAFTSMAN-LIKE MANNER. HE NOTED THAT THOUGH THERE WAS LIMITED PLUMBING AND SOME WIRING THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF A WATER SOURCE OR POWER SOURCE OTHER THAN A RAIN BARREL. BASED ON THIS, HE MADE THE MOTION TO REDUCE THE VALUATION TO $12.00 A SQUARE FOOT ON THE BUILDING FOR A ROUNDED VALUATION OF $9,200.00. HE MOVED TO SUSTAIN THE CARPORT VALUATION AT $540.00 AND THAT THE LAND BE SUSTAINED AT ITS CURRENT VALUATION OF $13,910.00. THIS IS A TOTAL VALUATION OF $23,650.00, THE PREVIOUS VALUATION WAS $32,450.00. MEMBER ARCHIE BARBER, JR. SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOTE.
