The Board of Equalization convened at 9:15 a.m. with Chairman A.C.
Dalgleish, Vice-Chairman David G. Douglas, Member Archie Barber,
Jr. and Clerk Dierdrei L. Whiteford present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Board reviewed the Minutes of January 20, 1989 and the Manifest
Board Minutes of January 20, 1989 (previously the November Board).
There being no corrections, additions, deletions or other changes,
the Chairman requested that the Minutes be approved as written.
VICE-CHAIRMAN DOUGLAS MADE THE MOTION TO ACCEPT THE
MINUTES OF JANUARY 20, 1989 AS WRITTEN. MEMBER
ARCHIE BARBER, JR. SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION
CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOTE.
VICE-CHAIRMAN DOUGLAS MADE THE MOTION TO ACCEPT THE
MANIFEST MINUTES OF JANUARY 20, 1989 AS WRITTEN.
MEMBER ARCHIE BARBER, JR. SECONDED THE MOTION. THE
MOTION CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOTE.

MEMBERS OF THE BOARD SNORN IN
The Clerk of the Board swore in the Members of the Board of
Equalization. Letters of Reappointment from the Jefferson County
Commissioners were received by the Board and the Alternate Member,
James DeLeo. The Minutes and Proceedings of the Jefferson County
Board of Equalization form was signed by the members, certified by
the Clerk, and a copy was mailed to the Department of Revenue,
Property Tax Division.

LAST YEAR'S ORGANIZATION OF THE BOARD AS THIS YEAR'S
ORGANIZATION NITH A. C. DALGLEISH AS CHAIRMAN, DAVID
G. DOUGLAS AS VICE-CHAIRMAN, ARCHIE BARBER, JR. AS
MEMBER AND TO RE-ESTABLISH JAMES A. DE LEO AS THE
ALTERNATE MEMBER OF THE BOARD. ARCHIE BARBER, JR.
SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED BY
UNANIMOUS VOTE.
MEETING NOTICE
The Notice of Meeting of the Jefferson County Board of Equalization
form was filled out, submitted to the Jefferson County legal
newspaper (The Leader), posted in the Assessor's Office and on the
Legal Notice Bulletin Board of the County on May 30th, 1989, and a
copy was mailed to the Department of Revenue, Property Tax
Division. The posting is for two successive weeks, The
advertisement in The Leader is to be published for two weeks, June
7, 1989 and June 14, 1989. The Notice states that the County Board
of Equalization will convene at 10:00 a.m. on July 5, 1989 at the
Jefferson County Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington and will
continue in session and adjourn from time to time for a period of
not less than three (3) days, and not to exceed twenty-eight (28)
days, Meetings will be held on July 5, 1989, July 7, 1989, July
11, 1989 and at other times as required, to publicly examine and
equalize the assessments extended in the current year on the
taxable property of said county, for taxes to be levied in the year
1990, and to correct all errors in valuation, description or
qualities of property assessed by the assessor. The owner or agent
of any taxable property who feels there are inequities in their
assessment or exemptions may file a petition and appear before the
Board at the time and place appointed. Appeal forms may be
acquired from the County Commissioner's Office, at Jefferson County
Courthouse, Port Townsend, Washington.
