Recommendations for Jefferson County
Action
The Jefferson County Planning Commission will be considering changes to Short Term Rental regulations (aka AirBNB, VRBO etc.) affecting the county. You can help preserve local housing
for local residents by voicing support for our recommendations. Submit a public comment by Wednesday August 14th using the link below.

HSN Recommends:
* Cap the number of Short Term Rentals (STRs) to 2% of the County’s Housing Units
* Require homeowners to apply for short term rental permits for property
* Issue new permits every five years
* Require short term vacation rental platforms, like AirBnb, VRBO, and others to register with the County
* Use platform-based enforcements
* Limit one STR per homeowner and require the homeowner to reside on premise for at least 6 months
* Establish term limits of five years for STR permits
