Marlow Richard A. Broders Lars Watson Chairman Vice-Chairman Member Alternate Chairman James A. DeLeo called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M. Member William S. Marlow was present. Member Richard A. Broders arrived shortly after the meeting began. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Vice-Chairman Bill Marlow moved to approve the Minutes of August 10, 11, & 12 1993 as presented. Chairman James A. DeLeo seconded the motion. The motion carried. The Board heard and denied a request from Robert J. Clouse to accept his appeal for 1993. DETERMINATIONS Joe Thompson BOE: 93-01-LO PN: 938 400 803 Vice-Chairman Bill Marlow stated that after conducting an inspection of the property the Board determined that the Assessor's valuation accurately reflects the market value of the property. Member Dick Sroders moved to sustain the Assessor's valuation of $21,000. Vice-Chairman Bill Marlow seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. (See also Minutes of August 12, 1993) Ken Bourland BOE: 93-03(a)-R 93-03(b)-R PN: 996 400 507 996 400 508 There was some confusion with this petition so Vice-Chairman Bill Marlow clarified for the record that Mr. Bourland is appealing two (2) duplexes. He also stated that the appellant presented 10 comparable duplexes with significantly lower valuations than his at the Hearing. The Board conducted an inspection of the property and after reviewing the information Vice, .. Member Dick Broders seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. (See also minutes of August 11, 1993) Edward Booth BOE: 93-05-R PN: 936 000 116 Vice-Chairman Bill Marlow stated that after conducting an inspection of the property they determined the Assessor's valuation accurately reflects the market value of the property. Member Dick Broders moved to sustain the Assessor's valuation of $155,965. Vice- Chairman Bill Marlow seconded the motion which carried by a onanimous vote. (See also minutes of August 12, 1993) Brian D. Hicks BOE: 93-Q6-R PN: 961 808 606 Member Dick Broders stated that since Mr. Hicks entered into a lease agreement which established the purchase price of the property in 1988 he feels there is enough market differential to account for the increase in the 1991 assessed valuation. The Board conducted an inspection of the property and determined the Assessor's valuation accurately reflects the market value of the property. Vice-Chairman Bill Marlow moved to sustain the Assessor's valuation of $88,550. Member Dick Broders seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. Mennella BOE: 93-D7-LO PN: 939 601 420 After conducting an inspection of the property the Board determined that the gully does not adversely affect or detract from Ms. Mennella's property. Vice-Chairman Bill Marlow moved to sustain the Assessor's valuation of $22,700. Member Dick Broders seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. (See also minutes of August 12, 1993) World Gospel Mission BOE: 93-IO--LO PN: 950 700 404 After reviewing the information provided by the petitioner and the minutes of the hearing held August 10, 1993 the Board concurred to defer making a decision on this appeal until they research the case further. Dr. Willy Bruchle BOE: 93-11-LO PN: 990 600 320 The Board reviewed the information and conducted an inspection of the property and determined to reduce the valuation of the property as recommended by the Assessor's office and equalize the similar lots in the area. Vice-Chairman Bill Marlow moved to reduce the BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING MINUTES - SEPTEMBER 9, 1993 Page 3 value of the property to $25,000 and equalize lots 16 through 22 by reducing them to $25,000. Member Dick Broders seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. The Board examined the plat map and determined there may have been some confusion about the location of Dr. Bruchle's property. They concurred to conduct a second inspection of the property to insure they viewed the correct parcel. Chairman James A. DeLeo stated the Board will withdraw their approval of the previous motion and make a determination at a later date. (See also minutes of August 11, 1993) Lars Erickson BOE: 93-12,LO PN: 101 324 010 After conducting an inspection of the property and reviewing all the information pertaining to the case the Board concurred the Assessor's valuation accurately reflects market value of the property. Vice-Chairman Bill Marlow moved to sustain the Assessor's valuation of $324,305. Member Dick Broders seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. (See also minutes of August 10, 1993) William & Ngaire Hixson BOE: 93-13-LO 93-14-R PN: 101 324 017 101 324 018 The Board reviewed the information submitted and conducted an inspection of the property and determined the Assessor's valuation accurately reflects the market value of both parcels. Member Dick Broders moved to sustain the Assessor's valuation of $56,950 for parcel number 101 324 017 and $119,475 for parcel number 101 324 018. Vice-Chairman Bill Marlow seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. (See also minutes of August 10, 1993) James Voilaod DOE: 93-18-LO PN: 101 324 009 After careful consideration of all the information submitted and conducting an inspection of the property, the Board determined the Assessor's valuatiou accurately reflects the market value of the property. Vice-Chairman Bill Marlow moved to sustain the Assessor's valuation of $221,955. Member Dick Broders seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. (See also minutes of August 10, 1993) Guy Rudolph DOE: 93-19-LO 93-20-LO PN: 952 800 209 952 800 208 After reviewing all the information submitted and conducting an inspection of the property the Board determined that the Assessor's valuation accurately reflects the market value of both parcels. Vice-Chairman Bill Marlow moved to sustain the Assessor's valuation of $59,755 for parcel BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING MINUTES - SEPTEMBER 9, 1993 Page 4 number 952 800 209 and $37,800 for parcel number 952 800 208.
