The Board of Equalization convened at 9:30 a.m. Members present were James DeLeo,
Bill Marlow, Dick Broders, and Alternate member Lars Watson.
CONVENING 1994 HEARINGS
Member James Deleo officially convened the 1994 Board of Equalization for hearings
for the 1995 tax year.
SWEARING IN THE BOARD
The Clerk of the Board swore in James A. DeLeo, William S. Marlow, Richard A.
Broders, and Alternate member Lars Watson for the 1994 Board of Equalization season.
Each member then signed the Minutes and Proceedings form.
FORMATION OF THE BOARD
Member Bill Marlow moved to appoint James DeLeo as Chairman of the Board of
Equalization. Member Dick Broders seconded the motion which carried by unanimous
vote. Member Bill Marlow moved to appoint Dick Broders as Vice-Chairman of the
Board of Equalization. Chairman DeLeo seconded the motion which carried by
unanimous vote.

PROCESS/PROCEDURES
There was a brief discussion about process and procedures. Chairman DeLeo noted for
the record, that at the Board of Equalization training this year the legal counsel for the
Department of Revenue stated that if an appellant at a hearing refuses to be sworn in,
the Board is not required to take their testimony into consideration.
HEARINGS
The Board reviewed the appeals received to date and scheduled hearings for August 17,
18, and 24, 1994.
