Broders called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. in the presence of Vice-Chairman William S. Marlow. Member James A. DeLeo was not present. DETERMINATION Colin & Joan Thomson 4705 194th Avenue SE Issaquah, WA 98027 BOE: 97-06-R PN: 701194026 After reviewing all the information submitted by both parties and conducting an inspection ofthe property, the Board agreed that based on market evidence the true and fair market value of the property is $500 per front foot. Chairman Broders stated that the Assessor's office also agrees with this fmding and recommended that the value of this parcel be reduced and that the parcel adjacent to it be equalized to insure equity. Vice- Chairman Marlow moved to overrule the Assessor and reduce the current assessment of parcel number 701 194026 from $276,795 ($194,160 for the land and $82,635 for the improvements) to $182,715 ($100,080 for the land and $82,635 for the improvements). Chairman Broders seconded the motion. The motion carried. (See also minutes of August 6, 1997) EQUALIZATION Brian Hood & Cynthia Reardon 150133rd Avenue South Seattle, WA 98144 BOE: Equalization PN: 701194024 Based on the decision made on the valuation appeal of parcel number 701 194026 (See above and minutes of August 6, 1997), the Board concurred to equalize the valuation of parcel number 70 I 194 024 as recommended by the Assessor's office to reflect the current market value of $500 per front foot. Vice-Chairman Marlow moved to reduce the valuation of parcel number 701 194024 from $205,975 ($194,080 for the land and $11,895 for the improvements) to $110,935 ($99,040 for the land and $11,895 for the improvements). Chairman Broders seconded the motion. The motion carried. Based on the significant market decrease in the area of Teal Lake Village and the Assessor's recommendation, the Board concurred to reduce the value ofthis parcel and equalize various property values in this area. Vice- Chairman Marlow moved to overrule the Assessor and reduce the current assessment of parcel number 998 700 005 from $203,080 ($48,000 for the land and $155,080 for the improvements) to $182,105 ($36,000 for the land and $146, I 05 for the improvements). Chairman Broders seconded the motion. The motion carried. (See also minutes of August 7, 1997) William & Madelynn Castle 82 Sea Vista Terrace Port Ludlow, WA 98365 BOE: 97-08-R PN: 998 700 048 After reviewing all the information submitted by both parties and conducting an inspection of the property the Board agreed to reduce the valuation of this parcel and equalize various property valuations in Teal Lake Village based on the significant decrease in the market, and the recommendation by the Assessor's office. Vice- Chairman Marlow moved to reduce the valuation of parcel number 998 700 048 from $296,070 ($106,000 for the land and $190,070 for the improvements) to $269,130 ($91,000 for the land and $178,130 for the improvements). Chairman Broders seconded the motion. The motion carried. (See also minutes of August 7, 1997) EQUALIZATION - CONTINUED Based on the decision made on the valuation appeals of parcel numbers 998 700 005 and 998 700 048 (See above and minutes of August 7, 1997) the Board concurred that it is necessary to equalize the property values of various other parcels in the Teal Lake Village area. Vice-Chairman Marlow moved to equalize the valuations of lots I through 56 located in Teal Lake Village, as shown on the attached list, with the exception oflots 5, 25, 36, and 48 which have already been adjusted in value (Lot 7 does not exist as it was combined with lots 6 and 8). Chairman Broders seconded the motion. The motion carried. Property inspections were scheduled for August 25 and 26, 1997. Meeting adjourned.
