Mr. and Mrs. Bartlett were.present. Appraiser Robert Kingsley represented the Assessor's office.
Chairman Marlow eXplained the hearing process and swore them in. The property under appeal consists
of approximately 5.26 acres located at 111 Walden Lane, Port Ludlow. Mrs. Bartlett explained that they
are only appealing the increase in the land value. The properties used as comparable by the Assessor's
office are not comparable since a portion of their property slopes steeply to the west and is a drainage
basin for water runoff from other lots. She presented a map which shows where the drainage is located on
their property. She noted that there is a huge difference between the value of their property and the value
of neighboring properties. The appellants feel the current assessment of $293,925 ($103,000 for the land
and $190,925 for the improvements) for parcel number 821 085004 should be reduced to $255,925
($65,000 for the land and $190,925 for the improvements) and the current assessment of $95,000 (land
only) for parcel number 821 085 007 should be reduced to $60,000.
