Sierra Club led environmental groups in drafting a bill that was recently introduced in Congress to reduce the amount of pollution created by the steel industry.
The Modern Steel Act would protect frontline communities from the health impacts of pollution and create new jobs. We're already seeing green steel pilot programs in Mississippi and
Ohio—and they're working.
Add your name and tell your Senators and Representative to support this bill! <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=f8144ab1316e12c48c759a42768df1269eb9648c31473b07818acd8a6fbf77f64c76df91e75c686e9

Last week, the D.C. Circuit Court issued a decision that effectively cancels three dangerous methane gas projects that had been previously approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
(FERC). This is a big win for Gulf South communities and the environment. Now, we must keep up the pressure to stop new LNG fracked gas export facilities for good!
Urge President Biden to stop ALL gas exports. <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=f8144ab1316e12c44b110bc62f9e0cf55fc6d22cecd7fb062e4bb4259202543e6bb36a47cb6e25aebda0328582e87a38a5d833f53eb8d20ab

How do we make sure veterans and their families can access the healing benefits of nature? The Sierra Club Military Outdoors campaign asked 716 veteran community members that question,
and we are excited to share the findings! Join us for a virtual event where we'll share the powerful insights gathered from these conversations and discuss ways to enhance outdoor access
for the military community and their families.

Temperatures in the Southwest are so hot and dry that scientists are coming up with new terms to describe what's happening—hotter drought. The combined threats of heat and aridity have
been fatal for even the most heat-adapted trees. Scientists have determined that about a third of the strength of the current megadrought is due not to a lack of water but to warming
tied to climate change.

June 30, 2024 could've been a milestone date in the history of American city planning. That was the date that New York City was supposed to launch America's first-ever congestion pricing
plan. It didn't happen. Instead, New York Governor Kathy Hochul put the plan on pause indefinitely.
Learn why environmental groups, including the Sierra Club, are suing Governor Kathy Hochul for blocking it. <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=f8144ab1316e12c45a64b96d9b28a1d543d0fa1311f30ab5499

Hellbenders, America's largest salamander, are in decline across much of their historic range, which extends from northern Georgia to southern New York. To help them thrive, conservation
groups in North Carolina are dismantling obsolete dams and translocating some of the 2-foot-long amphibians to new waters.
