Plan for morning road work on US 101 in Sequim Aug. 19-22
SEQUIM – Morning travelers who use US 101 in Sequim will want to plan extra travel time the week of Aug. 19.
From 4 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, through Thursday, Aug. 22, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will repair asphalt on US 101 in Sequim. Work is
scheduled to occur in three separate locations.
Monday, Aug. 19
Eastbound US 101 will be reduced to one lane near Simdars Road.
Tuesday, Aug. 20 and Wednesday, Aug. 21
US 101 will be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic east of the River Road overpass. Travelers should expect intermittent stops and congestion approaching the work zone.
Thursday, Aug. 22
Traffic on the eastbound US 101 exit to Sequim Avenue will use the shoulder during work on the off-ramp.
All work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled.
Whenever near work zones please:
* Slow down – drive the posted speeds, they're there for everyone’s safety.
* Be kind – Workers are out there helping to keep everyone safe and improve the roadways.
* Pay attention – both to workers directing traffic and to fellow travelers.
* Stay Calm – expect delays, leave early or take alternate routes if possible.
