Pumpkin Spice lattes have returned, the Seahawks are about to kick of their season, and cooler weather and rain have returned to Western Washington – boy does it feel like fall! With Labor Day weekend in sight, I must admit summer truly is coming to an end, and what a summer it has been. Recognizing the (often unseen) hard work and contributions of county staff is a highlight of my job. This summer started off with presenting the County Engineer of the Year Award <https://t.e2ma.net/ click/h51xfm/lghk51mb/9i3h0vc> to the Snohomish County Engineer and, in a fitting bookend, concluded with traveling to Snohomish County to present the Project Manager of the Year Award. What a great honor it was to celebrate Larry, Doug, and their entire team’s great work. I am not sure how many miles we’ve put on roads this summer, but CRAB has done our part in keeping the MVFT revenues going strong! In addition to our staff's meetings, road ratings and presentations across the state, I spent much of August visiting counties in northwest and central Washington. Looking ahead, our fall lineup will include hosting a training on GIS-Mo (Grant County), presentations at APWA (Benton County) and IACC (Chelan County), our board meeting (Walla Walla & Columbia Counties) and presenting at the County Leader's Conference (Clark County).
