In honor of Labor Day, we are raising $20,000 to support our programs and initiatives to counter labor trafficking. In celebration of Labor Day 2024, your donation of $20.24 can help victims of labor trafficking. By taking a stand against labor trafficking, you will be joining the movement to help prevent forced labor. Your generosity can help create a safer world, and it will help more people escape labor trafficking situations. Your generosity can help people who get tricked into coming to the United States for work opportunities but unintentionally end up becoming victims of human trafficking. That’s what happened to Valdir Solera, who came to the United Sates from Brazil with 21 other college students for what he thought was going to be a three-month internship opportunity in agriculture biology. But after arriving, Valdir and his friends found out they had been tricked and they had been brought to the United States to work on a farm without pay. The students were told they would have to work for free to pay back their passage to the United States. The owner of the farm tried to hold them in debt bondage. Luckily, Valdir and the other students were granted asylum, but many other labor trafficking victims remain stuck in situations where employers force them to work long hours with little or no pay, and no benefits. This Labor Day, your gift of $20.24 can help more survivors like Valdir escape forced labor exploitation. Please make a gift today and consider becoming a monthly donor to help prevent human trafficking.
