SUBJECT: Request for Board Approval, re: Issuing Homeless Housing and Affordable
Housing Request for Proposals(RFP)
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
During their August 28,2024 meeting,the Housing Fund Board(HFB)approved a motion to recommend that the
Board of County Commissioners issue an RFP in an amount not to exceed $165,000 for Homeless Housing and
$1,400,000 for Affordable Housing, for qualifying projects to be undertaken in 2025.
ANALYSIS:
Staff analyzed the finances of the Homeless and Affordable I lousing funds and notified the Housing Fund Board that
the available amounts in 2025 are as follows: $165,000 for Homeless Housing and$1,400,000 for Affordable
Housing.The HFB will meet at a Special Meeting on September 11,2024 at 1:00 p.m. to finalize the RFP.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This request has no fiscal impact in and of itself. However,approval of this request will lead to the award of grants for
Homeless IIousing and Affordable Housing projects in Jefferson County in 2025.
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the issuance of a Homeless Housing and Affordable Housing RFP in an amount not to exceed$165,000 for
Homeless Housing and$1,400,000 for Affordable IIousing, and direct staff to publish the RFP once the Housing Fund
Board has finalized the RFP application.
