Crews are shifting traffic back onto the highway at five fish barrier removal sites <https://links-1.govdelivery.com/CL0/https:%2F%2Fwsdot.wa.gov%2Fsites%2Fdefault%2Ffiles%2F2024-01%2FCoastal-29-Bundle-2A-2023-Jefferson-Clallam-fish-barrier-remova l-work-zones.png/1/01000191be83d792-dc4cbe4c-c2b8-4e6e-97c1-4cfdebd768de-000000/7XO6lznat5JzxoH3WH9ZzLgDUwyegXNYP1bpJVFk7nc=369> . What’s happening The Washington State Department of Transportation has kept people moving throughout summer on temporary one-lane bypass roads. On Thursday, Sept. 5, travelers will shift back onto US 101 at two work zones north of Ruby Beach. The work zones are located at mileposts 169 and 171. Travelers will continue to see alternating traffic while crews complete landscaping and other restoration work along the roadway. What’s next Crews later will move traffic back to the highway at the remaining three sites. Later this fall, all five sites will have two lanes open again around the clock. Work is part of a project <https://links-1.govdelivery.com/CL0/https:%2F%2Fwsdot.wa.gov%2Fconstruction-planning%2Fsearch-projects%2Fus-101-northwest-us-101-remove-fish-barriers/1/01000191be83d792-dc4 cbe4c-c2b8-4e6e-97c1-4cfdebd768de-000000/z9VJ7nGjRkz7uZrmBbvSpmMcS5j_YLC0KLeihflgRu4=369> to remove barriers to fish at five locations between Ruby Beach and Lake Crescent. Fish habitat work continues Crews will return summer 2025 to complete a bridge over Wisen Creek east of Forks. Travelers will also continue to see single lane alternating traffic for a separate fish habitat project at the Jefferson-Clallam county line <https://links-1.govdelivery.com/CL0/https:%2F%2Fwsdot.wa.gov%2Fconstruction-planning%2Fsearch-projects%2Fus-101-may-creek-vic-dowans-creek-rd-remove-fish-barrie r/1/01000191be83d792-dc4cbe4c-c2b8-4e6e-97c1-4cfdebd768de-000000/y61N0f-AKF2kdnymbSZaeIIFkUfXs-1Hixwnzs5xSjo=369> .
