Data collection is hosted on a website that contains data entry forms that are tailored to each program. ● Data collected includes both quantitative data and qualitative narrative data for each program. ● After quarterly reports are submitted, Tableau dashboards for each program are updated to reflect the newest available data. This is typically completed within the first week after reports are due. This woman and her partner engaged in services full throttle. The pregnancy was unplanned but both parents expressed strong desire to welcome this child into their lives. Both parents had extensive traumatic histories, with very recent drug abuse and unsafe social circles/family/friends continuing to actively use drugs and participate in other unsafe/illegal behavior. The clients had ongoing lists of questions, concerns regarding what to do and how to make decisions related to the pregnancy, preparing for the baby and for labor. The clients were eager to do right by their baby. There were legal issues to clean up for the father and thru the time working together the NHV was able to witness an immense amount of growth, dedication and flexibility to consider what would be best for their child. The family eventually graduated from the NFP program following the 2nd birthday of the first child; at that time, they were expecting their second child. The family continues to navigate circumstances often encountered by families having a history of trauma and other social & economic challenges. They developed their property to provide as safe and comfortable a home as they could at the time, and they remained engaged in services to continue to grow and learn together.” Recovery Cafe Success Story ‘This quarter, we have continued to assist a Member who we have known for quite some time. She is a young person of color who is very thoughtful, a talented writer, and artistic. She has been working on remaining abstinent from substance use and managing mental health symptoms of depression and, at times, suicidal ideation. Recovery Cafe staff has built a strong relationship with this person by providing consistent recovery support and empowered her with opportunities for peer leadership. In past quarters, we assisted this Member to access higher education. This quarter, we have provided one - on - one support with some of her classwork, and helped connect her with outside employment support services. She has begun working with these professionals to identify career goals upon completion of her education program.’ Transformations by Olympic Angels Success Story ‘A youth in our community has been experiencing foster care for more that two years. She was in care in Jefferson County, then Clallam County, and then back to Jefferson County within the 2 years. When she returned to Jefferson County, she was reunited with her brother, and placed in a kinship care placement. She began her senior year of high school. The transitions had been difficult, and included multiple medical issues. She had an Olympic Angels Dare to Dream mentor who stayed with her through all of these physical moves and through the social and emotional transitions that were part of this difficult young life. When she was placed in Jefferson County kinship care, Olympic Angels created an extraordinary Love Box volunteer group who continues to support the family with meals, financial support, school support, transportation, mental health and medical support and activities for the children. This support, coordinated with her Dare to Dream mentor, has made an amazing difference in the lives of everyone in the family. The first quarter of 2024, in February, the youth entered Extended Foster Care. That transition in the placement plan came with some challenges, but with the support of the Love Box volunteers and Dare to Dream mentor, the transition is going well. The youth should graduate from high school June and continue to work with her Mentor and new Extended Foster Care social worker to prepare to move into adulthood, including education, housing, medical issues management and employment skill building. ’ Benji Project ‘In the first quarter of 2024, The Benji Project conducted a successful 6 - week series in PT High School's 9th grade Health class, during 3 class periods each week. We had a team of instructors who worked with students in small groups. An activity that involves comparing how you would treat a friend with how you treat yourself generated good discussion and reflections on the meaning of self - compassion. Students also resonated with the reminder that you are not alone with emotional struggles, a concept we introduce as "common humanity." In feedback forms, students expressed particular appreciation for sound and music meditations, as well as the art activities. Instructors for this series shared that they felt a few more sessions would allow more time to build trust with the students. We will explore the possibility of extending the number of sessions next year. One student at a session this quarter commented, ""I wish I had known this a long time ago!" They were referring to tools to help regulate and calm the nervous system. Another student explained that these mindfulness practices helped them find ways to keep focused on tasks at hand.’ I encourage everyone to check out the dashboards to learn more about the amazing work being done by all the 1/10th programs!
