WSAC Members,
As you are planning your week, I want you to know about a rare opportunity regarding recent progress between the U.S. and Canada in Columbia River Treaty negotiations.
If you are not aware, the Columbia River Treaty is an international agreement setting out operating requirements for the Columbia River for power production and flood control. WSAC has
been actively monitoring and participating in efforts to modernize the treaty over the last decade or so.
On Wednesday, during the Columbia River Counties Caucus meeting in Ellensburg, we will be joined by several representatives of federal agencies and others involved in the Columbia River
Treaty negotiations. They will update members on the recent "Agreement in Principle" between the U.S. and Canada on treaty modernization.
The Columbia River Treaty is a significant and important agreement between the U.S. and Canada that impacts us all. This is a great chance to hear directly about recent progress.
