Dear Commissioners:
There are four illegal trailers parks along Irondale Rd. in Port Hadlock—1241, 1270, 1275 and
1313. The owners/operators of these illegal trailer parks—Chimacum Heights LLC ( Mr.
Jackson) and Chimacum Properties LLC (Mr.Jackson) - were notified in 2022 that there are
substantial code violations and they would be fined $500 a day until corrected.
To date, the trailer parks are still operating and the code violations continue. Although I've
been in touch with the County Attorney, it seems nobody is able to enforce the zoning code,
address these violations or prosecute the case. Is it realistic to think that the County will
actually fine the Jacksons more than $365,000? While I remain sensitive to the lack of housing
in this county, it galls me to think these bible-thumping wackos have the audacity to simply
ignore the law.
Please explain to me if and when these cases will move forward.
