Washington State has mandated Open Public Meetings Act and Open Public Records Act training for government staff and officials. Newly elected or reappointed members of Jefferson County Advisory Boards and Commissions are also required to take this training. As the HEalth& Safety Manager of one the largest employers in Jefferson County,I believe it is my duty and my employer's responsibility to be involved in the emergency management planning for our community. List your qualifications for this appointment(include skills, activities,training,etc.): With over 17 years in law enforcement training and directly managing emergency response,4 years in health and safety managing emergency preparedness and incidents,training members of law enforcement from first responder to management level on the process and requirements of NIMS and SEMS,training and first-hand experience in the mitigation of hazardous materials spills, natural disaster preparedness and post-incident management,active shooter preparedness and incident management,etc It is desireable for Advisory Board and Commission members to have a broad collective knowledge and interest in various ethnic, religious,cultural,educational and community views. Describe your strengths in this area: In my prior role as a peace officer,I have an intimate knowledge and experience with vastly differing ethnic, cultural,religious,educational and community views while maintaining an understanding,acceptance and a collaborative attitude toward those varying views.
