No matter our zip code, race, or income level, we all benefit from clean and safe transportation choices. At Sierra Club, we're fighting for transportation options that will be a climate
solution, rather than a leading source of climate and air pollution.
Transitioning from dirty fossil fuel powered cars, trucks, and buses is a critical way to green our transportation. But electric vehicles are just a part of the puzzle. We also need
to see more investment in reliable buses, trains, and safer infrastructure for walking and biking. That's why we're partnering with America Walks for the Week Without Driving challenge,
starting September 30.

If you have access to a car, you may not know what it's like to rely on walking, scooting, rolling, transit, and asking for rides. But for nearly a third of people living in the United
States—people with disabilities, young people, seniors, and people who can't afford cars or gas—driving is just not possible.
Public transit is also better for our health and climate.
That's why we're working in communities nationwide to support better options, including improved rural bus routes, urban subways, intercity rail, and safe walking and biking infrastructure.
