HomeMy WebLinkAboutBOE M021524 `bs0 CO G { MINUTE S BOARD OF EQUALIZATION Regular Meeting — Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. Commissioners Chambers, Jefferson County Courthouse 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368 (Hybrid) CALL TO ORDER: Chair Margaret Taylor called the meeting to order in the presence of Board of Equalization(BOE) Vice Chair Pete Raab, Member Joe Langjahr and Member Joni Blanchard. PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: Chair Taylor called for public comments, and none were received. CLOSED SESSION: A Closed Session was originally scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Chair Taylor announced that the Closed Session will be held from 9:31 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to deliberate on individual tax appeals, not subject to the Open Public Meetings Act, as outlined in RCW 42.30.140(2). ACTION ITEMS: The Board resumed the Regular Meeting at 11:00 a.m. and took the following actions after Closed Session: John and Muriel Gusoskey BOE: 23-17-R- Parcel No. 701 194 030 Chair Taylor moved to sustain the Assessor's value. Member Raab seconded the motion. Chair Taylor called for public comment on the motion, and no comments were received. She called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. Valerie Scott Living Trust BOE: 23-18-R- Parcel No. 990 900 008 Chair Taylor moved to overrule the Assessor's value. The new valuation will be a total of$260,000. Member Langjahr seconded the motion. Chair Taylor called for public comment on the motion, and no comments were received. She called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. Brian Pistay BOE: 23-20-R- Parcel No. 995 600 018 Chair Taylor moved to sustain the Assessor's value. Member Blanchard seconded the motion. Chair Taylor called for public comment on the motion, and no comments were received. She called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Chair Taylor noted that the next meeting will be held on February 27, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. She adjourned the meeting at 11:04 a.m. until the next regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed.
